We offer the three following ways to be part of our community:

List of 3 items.

  • Host Family

Host Families play a vital role in the UWC Costa Rica community, acting as surrogate families and providing much-needed support for students.

Most UWC CR students are far away from their own families, many for the first time, and need a home away from home. Families take their student(s) to their house for a night or a weekend or for one of our longer breaks. Students love to get a break from campus. They usually develop close relationships with their Host Families, and some describe their time with their Host Family as one of the most rewarding experiences of their two-year stay.

To become a Host Family or to learn more about the program, contact our Host Family Coordinator, Marianela Ramirez at marianela.ramirez@uwccostarica.org.

Most volunteers who reside on campus and will volunteer for a full semester or for the entire year. There are also special occasions and small projects that can always use helping hands from volunteers.
