Annette joined UWC in July 2015 working as the Outreach Coordinator creating summer programs and camps to expand the UWC mission for visiting groups and students. In June 2016, she became the Director of Admissions for the College. In 2020, Annette became leader of the Admissions Network serving as a liaison representing the admissions directors from the18 UWC schools and colleges in collaboration with the UWC International Office. She is also a facilitator for the Agents for Change program teaching students social entrepreneurship skills to create a positive impact. Annette was born and raised in Costa Rica and holds three nationalities (British, USA, and Costa Rica), and is married to a Spaniard -- very much the UWC model. She grew up in Costa Rica, went to boarding school in the USA, and graduated from Cornell University with a B.S in Applied Economics and Business Management. She serves on the board for the CIRENAS foundation on the Nicoya Peninsula, working on conservation projects related to watershed management, marine conservation, and permaculture design. She is the mother of 2 children and also enjoys being a host family to UWC students. Annette is a competitive athlete and enjoys training for triathlons and open water swim races.
