Outreach & Innovation

    • Programs I Outreach I Banner

We continued to foster relationships with our existing partners to secure their involvement with our community so that, when we can safely do so, new and exciting educational programs can take place.

We aim to scale the impact of our mission by offering educational experiences to thousands of young people every year, with a special focus on accessibility for local youth. Outreach &Innovation also contribute to the financial sustainability of the school, being an important stream of revenue, especially through facility rentals. We are ready to join the leaders of the educational revolution in Latin America.  This new vision will support UWC Costa Rica becoming a home, a heart, and a hub for this community of innovators, youth and educators, that are changing the world.

What is it?

360 Sustainability Experience, is a one-day program for high school students where they come together to solve a pressing challenge: How can we build a culture of Sustainability in our schools and our surroundings? Sustainability is more than recycling and beach cleaning. Sustainability is a culture and way of life, and at UWC Costa Rica we have developed a framework with 8 principles, to help guide our actions to transform our school, our surroundings, and ourselves. Our 360 Sustainability Experience for Schools, invite you to spend a day thinking, experimenting, and getting ready to act like an Agent of Change and an ambassador of planet earth.

For who is it for?

A group of student representatives of local private or public schools, at least one of each. Students that are interested in sustainability, and are natural leaders in their schools, are selected by a teacher or educator that we invite. Average of 96 participants, but variations could be done with 70 or 32.
